Concert tonight at Davis Park

ANDERSON — First United Methodist Church of Anderson is sponsoring a concert at 7 p.m. today at Davis Park, 4507 Nichol Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will feature the bands House of Heroes, Come Wind and Curt Anderson. There is limited ticket availability, so call the church office at 643-6977 or email Jacob@andersonfirst.org to reserve your seat.

 

Summer Solstice ceremony at Mounds

ANDERSON — Mounds State Park’s Summer Solstice ceremony featuring the Miami Tribe’s Sacred Drum ceremony on the Great Mound will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Activities will feature Native American games, Atlatl throwing contest and Native American crafts.

NAACP meeting set for Sunday

ANDERSON — A general membership meeting of the NAACP will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Branch Office.

The agenda will include the president’s report and community concerns. The public is encouraged to attend.

William Mathys to serve as speaker

ANDERSON — On Monday, at 7 p.m., William Mathys will be the speaker at the Madison County Historical Society members and friends meeting.

He will be presenting a discussion “Verses by the side of the road.” The meeting will be in the Bowman Room of the History Center, 11 W. 11th St.
