Man arrested in connection with Sunday stabbing

ANDERSON — A suspect faces a felony battery charge after a man was stabbed during a fight Sunday.

Carlos A. Wilson, 34, of Anderson, is accused of stabbing another Anderson man at their home in the 2400 block of West 12th Street.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a verbal argument between the man and Wilson turned physical about 2:30 p.m. The man’s girlfriend, who was also at the home, told police she saw the victim grab a bottle of vodka in the kitchen to defend himself, then Wilson stabbed him in the abdomen.

The man was able to grab the knife from Wilson as the woman broke up the fight, and Wilson left the home.

Shortly after the incident was reported, police found Wilson several blocks east in the 1300 block of Sycamore Street. Officers reported that he was acting highly intoxicated, seemed angry and had blood on his forehead. An officer eventually used a stun device to subdue Wilson.

No information was given whether the stabbing victim was hospitalized.

Wilson was just arrested on Thursday and faces a pending misdemeanor conversion charge for the unrelated incident.
