Arrest Log: Sept. 20

Anderson police arrested Carl Edward Helbert, 57, of the 2900 block of N. Scatterfield Road, Anderson, at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor for conversion.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Ervin Layne Jr., 54, of the 1600 block of B Street, Elwood, at 8:32 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class B felony.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian Allen Corbin, 40, of the 4000 block of E. 12th Street, Indianapolis, at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a civil return to a county jail per a court order.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Steven Ken Staggs, 54, of the 57000 block of County Road 13, Elkhart, at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday. No bond was set for a Class D felony violation of work release.

Elwood police arrested Michael Lee Pearson Jr., 32, of the 1600 block of South J Street, Elwood, at 5:04 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class D felony possession of methamphetamine and a Class A misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia.

Elwood police arrested Kylee Dawn Williams, 20, of the 900 block of Ninth Street, Elwood, at 5:46 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $35,000 for a Class D felony possession of syringe, a Class D felony maintaining a common nuisance and a Class A felony for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Elwood police arrested Kristi Lee Castle, 26, Elwood, at 5:49 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $35,000 for a Class A felony for manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony for possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony possession of syringe, class D felony possession or sale of chemical reagents or precursors and a class A misdemeanor DWS.

Anderson police arrested Jeffrey Wayne Valentine, 49, of the 200 block of West Willow Street, Anderson, at 6:25 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor for conversion.

Anderson police arrested Micheal Leroy Simmons, 64, of the 800 block of West 38th Street, Anderson, at 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Bond was set at $5,000 for a Class A misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor for resisting law enforcement and for a civil sex offender failing to possess identification.
