Artisan’s Salon and Spa marks opening

ANDERSON, Ind. — Artisans Salon and Spa, 2220 E. 59th St., will hold a ribbon cutting Wednesday at 2:15 p.m.

The full-service salon opened in October and offers haircuts, hair styling, hair coloring, manicures, pedicures, facials, makeup and massages.

Husband-and-wife owners Amy and Ken Tescher said there will also be a grand opening celebration Jan. 26, which will feature goodies like a hot drink bar and baked goods, prize drawings, free complete skin care analyses, hair consultations and give away gift baskets of featured products and services.

There will also be exhibitions by local artists and craftsmen, including photography by Holly Lay, paintings by Denise Larson and Justin Terrell, jewelry designed by Beth Roop, custom furniture and wood-work by Pete Thomas, upcycled furniture by Nancy Crocker and baked goods provided by Brenda Fedor, of Brenda’s Oven.

“We have several artsy friends and always feel uplifted by gaining a new prospective through their art,” Amy Tescher said. “It gives Artisans that extra bit of tranquility that people today so desperately need.”

The goal is to “give artists the opportunity to reach new audiences know matter what their medium,” she said. “Hair, canvas, skin, clay, nails, wood, massage and the list could go on and on.”
