Korean War vets to meet Monday

ANDERSON — The Anderson Tri-County Chapter 308 of Korean War Veterans Association will meet on Monday at noon at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave.

Any veterans of the Korean War or veterans who served in Korea are invited to attend. There will be a Christmas pitch-in meal with meat and table service provided. Wives and widows of members are invited to attend.

Cross Roads presents Christmas play

ANDERSON — Acting Up in Church, the drama ministry of Cross Roads United Methodist Church, will present its annual Christmas play on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday at 3 p.m.

This year’s play is “The Twelve Plays of Christmas.”

Admission will be a canned good item to help stock the food pantry at Cross Roads.

Homeownership workshop today

ANDERSON — Information sessions for PathStone’s first-time homebuyer program will be today from 10 a.m. to noon or 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.

Sessions are free but registration is required.

‘Muppets Christmas’ to be shown today

ALEXANDRIA — Christmas in Alexandria kicks off this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. with Teen Movie Night “Muppets Christmas Carol” being shown at the Alexandria-Monroe Public Library.

Breakfast with Santa Saturday at the mall

ANDERSON — An all-you-can-eat Breakfast with Santa will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Food Court at Mounds Mall.

The event is being sponsored by Prairie Farms.

Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-10, and children under 3 eat free.

Proceeds will benefit Girl Scout Troop 2027.

Christmas tree sale benefits Muncie

MUNCIE — Kiwanis of Muncie will host its annual Christmas tree sale, a more than 60-year-old tradition through Dec. 22.

The sale is at the corner of Wysor and High streets, next to the Muncie Fieldhouse. The tree lot is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tree sizes range from table-top to 15 feet.

    The fussing of 10-day-old Autumn Marie Sperry seemed to coincide with the beginning of the funeral service for her father, Jesse Sperry, whose body rested just a few feet away. More than 200 friends and family members gathered at Edgewood Baptist Church this afternoon to pay their respects to Jesse, who was killed April 6 in a traffic accident on Indiana 32.
