Teen sentenced to prison after exposing himself at school

Wills was on probation for armed robbery

ANDERSON — An Anderson High School student who violated probation by exposing his genitals at school in May was sentenced to prison time Monday.

William M. Wills, 17, will be serving the final four years of a suspended sentence in the Department of Correction for the charge of public indecency and for testing positive for marijuana earlier this year. Wills was charged as an adult on a count of armed robbery, a Class B felony, in April 2012. The teen pleaded guilty to the charge, reducing the crime to a Class C felony and allowing him to serve a six-year sentence through in-home detention so he could continue to attend school.

Court records also indicate Wills admitted to using marijuana earlier this year. Madison Circuit Court 3 Judge Thomas Newman determined the two infractions violated the "behave well in society" section of Wills' probation, and ordered the rest of Wills' sentence to be served in prison.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on May 14 while Wills was at school, he followed a female student throughout the school and continually fondled her against her will. At one point as the girl was walking away, Wills pulled his pants down, exposing his genitals, and asked the girl to turn around.

The girl continued to walk away down a flight of stairs but turned around to see Wills with his pants still pulled down at the top of the stairs. The girl told her mother about the incident that day and reported it to school officials and police the next day.
