Madison County roads still slick, hazardous

ANDERSON, Ind. —

Madison County is still under a Travel Watch as road crews continue to try to clear roads after Tuesday night's snow fall.

Chris Beeman, coordinator for Madison County dispatch, said he was unsure when the watch would be lifted.

"That's usually something they play by ear," he said.

He said the roads county-wide are still snow covered and winds have been blowing snow back onto plowed roads. Beeman said most roads were still slick and dangerous.

Beeman said dispatch received some calls Tuesday night for slide-offs and accidents but said the number has been down compared with previous snow storms this year.

"We're getting some calls, but not as many as usual," Beeman said. "I think people are sick of dealing with the snow and are just staying at home."

Snowfall totals varied all over central Indiana with some cities recording around six to seven inches.
