---- — ANDERSON — An Anderson man with a criminal history that includes thievery and burglary was arrested Tuesday night.

Ricky E. White, 43, has been charged with felony burglary and theft after being accused of breaking into a neighbor's home and stealing bicycles and air conditioning units. As of Wednesday night, White was in custody at Madison County Jail on $20,000 bond.

According to a probable cause affidavit about the incident, White allegedly broke into the residence on Leisure Lane on Tuesday and started removing possessions from the home, including three bikes and two AC units. The event was witnessed by another neighbor who later confronted White.

The female neighbor told White she knew he was not authorized to be there because the homeowner is incarcerated and she promised to keep an eye on the dwelling. White claimed he had permission from the property manager to clear out the unit, but the property manager denied White's claim and chased White from the area.

Police confirmed with the victim's mother that White didn't have permission to move the items or be in the home. Police arrested White later that night.

White's criminal history includes charges that he was an habitual offender. He was convicted of theft in 2004, burglary and theft in 2007 and theft again in 2009. He's also been arrested twice in 2013 and has pending charges of residential entry and driving while suspended. White was also on probation when he was arrested.
