---- — Blue to make stop at Ed Martin Toyota

ANDERSON -- Blue, the official mascot of the Indianapolis Colts, will join with Indiana Toyota dealerships to raise money for the National MS Society by forming a team to ride in its annual Bike MS event.

Blue will be at Ed Martin Toyota, 5500 S. Scatterfield Road, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. He will sign autographs, meet with fans and collect donations for the National MS Society.

Fans can visit www.colts.com/blue to sign up to be a part of Blue’s team and ride with him during the national event, Saturday, Sept. 7, at Creekside Middle School in Carmel.

ICA to host Thursday open house

ANDERSON -- Indiana Christian Academy, 432 W. 300N, will have an open house from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Tours of the school will be given and light refreshments will be served.

Fresh produce giveaway Wednesday

ANDERSON -- The Anderson Impact Center, in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank, will have a fresh produce giveaway on Wednesday at 2 p.m. (until supplies run out) at the Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.

Individuals are encouraged to bring their own bags.

Historical Society class postponed

ANDERSON -- The Madison County Historical Society has postponed its genealogy class, “Census,” which had been scheduled for Aug. 5, because of the death in May of the volunteer presenter.

Directors of the historical society are seeking another presenter and will reschedule the class soon. The next class, “Beginning Genealogy,” will be on Monday, Sept. 9, at 1:30 p.m. in the History Center, 15 W. 11th St.

There is no fee to attend the classes.

Hospital offers Better Breathers Club

ANDERSON -- The next Better Breathers meeting will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Hospital Anderson Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Ave. Nicole Pyle, representative from Lincare, will discuss the use of respiratory medicine in the home.

The Better Breathers Club is a support group for adults suffering from chronic lung disease, organized through the American Lung Association of Indiana.

‘Let’s Talk’ Jam Session starts Friday

ANDERSON -- The Anderson Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave., will host a free four-week workshop, “Let’s Talk” Jam Session, for young women ages 13-17 years old.

Refreshments will be served and discussion topics will include education, careers, family, college, inner beauty and study habits.

Meetings will be this Friday, Aug. 2, Aug. 9 and Aug. 16 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
