Music for All returns to BSU with summer camp, live concerts

MUNCIE — High school instrumental music students and high school and middle school band directors will flock to Ball State again from June 21-28 for the annual Music for All Symposium, in its fourth year.

As part of the symposium experience, the Muncie community can attend Music for All's evening concerts and events. These performances include:

Yamaha Young Performing Artists: 8 p.m., Monday, June 23, Emens Auditorium

The Yamaha Young Performing Artists (YYPA) recognizes outstanding musicians from classical, jazz and contemporary music. This performance is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.

Atlantic Brass Quintet: 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, Emens Auditorium

Widely acclaimed as one of the world's finest brass ensembles, the Atlantic Brass Quintet has toured the nation along with more than a dozen countries. Tickets are available at the Emens Auditorium ticket office or through Ticketmaster.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy: 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, Emens Auditorium

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has sold millions of records with its notable hits, including "Go Daddy-O," "You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)," and "Mr. Pinstripe Suit." Tickets are available at the Emens Auditorium ticket office or through Ticketmaster.

Christian Howes and Southern Exposure: 8 p.m., Thursday, June 26, Emens Auditorium

Nominated recently for Violinist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association, Christian Howes has been praised by critics as one of today's most intriguing young jazz violinists. Tickets are available at the Emens Auditorium ticket office or through Ticketmaster.

Drum Corps International Central Indiana (DCI): 7 p.m., Friday, June 27, Scheumann Stadium

Seven of DCI's top corps showcase an early view of their 2014 shows. Order tickets for the DCI show at dci.org or call 317-275-1212.

The public is invited to attend Saturday's final student performances, which are free and open to the public. For a schedule with more information on these events, visit musicforall.org.
