30-team girls softball tourney set for July 11-13

ELWOOD — The Central Indiana Catz Softball Teams will host a 30-team softball tournament at the Elwood Girls Softball Fields on Friday, July 11, starting at 4:30 p.m. and it will run through 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

This tournament will be the largest that Elwood has ever hosted and officials are expecting around 3,000 people.

“We are wanting to reach out to local businesses to make them aware of the crowd that will be in town and to offer them the opportunity to provide a flier, discount card, or anything of their choice to advertise their business and location,’’ said Melissa Adams, secretary of the Elwood Girls Softball League. “We will assemble goody bags with this information for the teams and provide those to them at check in. Fliers and such can be dropped off at the Elwood Chamber of Commerce from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.”

If you wish to donate something for the goody bags, it has been requested to have 50 items. Drop them off to the Elwood Chamber of Commerce by 4 p.m. Monday, July 7.
