INDOT begins crack sealing Ind. 109 on Monday

The Herald Bulletin

ANDERSON, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict lanes at moving work sites along Indiana 109, beginning Monday, Dec. 10, until the end of the year.

INDOT maintenance crews plan to crack seal the north-south highway from Interstate 69/Ind. 9 to Ind. 234, between mile markers 9.5 and 21.5. Workers will be in the roadway every weekday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., except during holidays and on weekends, said INDOT spokesman Harry Maginity.

Flaggers will direct motorists around crews and equipment.

Monday’s operation begins at Anderson and moves southward. Once at Ind. 234, crews will turn around and crack seal the northbound lane. A four-lane segment of Ind. 109 at Anderson will be sealed one lane at a time, Maginity said in a press release.

INDOT anticipates only minimal disruption of traffic, but advises motorists to be alert, drive with caution and reduce speeds when approaching maintenance crews on the highway.
