ANDERSON, Ind. —
Anderson Public Library is the newest Family Search affiliate library. The new designation means library customers will have greater and more convenient access to the wealth of genealogical resources available through Family Search.
Family Search is the world’s largest repository of genealogical records in the United States. It has amassed billions of birth, marriage, death, census, land and court records of genealogical significance from more than 130 countries, all of which are available at its Salt Lake City, Utah, library.
Family Search extends access to its collections by circulating microforms of these historic records through select public libraries.
Customers can search the Family History Library Catalog online at www.familysearch.org to see what records are available to order. Ordering is through the website and costs $7.50. Once the film arrives at the Anderson library, the customer is notified and may come in to view it.
