Anderson worker injured in Hamilton County crash

---- — NOBLESVILLE — A man driving an Anderson business van was seriously injured, along with another, in a Hamilton County crash Friday morning.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 191st Street and Cyntheanne Road shortly after 7 a.m.

Witnesses told police that a northbound maroon Mercury Monterey disregarded a stop sign on Cyntheanne Road and collided with a white GM Savana at the intersection.

The Savana was a Royal Flush Plumbing work vehicle from Anderson.

Both drivers involved in the accident were transported to local hospitals via helicopter.

Driving the Royal Flush Plumbing van was Joel Smith, 27, of Noblesville, who was flown to Methodist Hospital with chest pain and possible internal injuries.

The other driver, Richard Purcell, 50, of Indianapolis, was taken to St. Vincent’s on 86th Street. He was unconscious and suffered possible internal injuries.

An update on their conditions was not available Friday night.
