Arrest log: May 8

Arrests made by Madison County law enforcement on Monday and Tuesday, based on Madison County Jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers, but are not final until the Madison County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

  • Madison County police arrested John L. Ayers, 55, of the 600 block of West Madison Avenue, Alexandria, at 9:18 a.m. Monday. Bond was set at $2,000 for Class C misdemeanor OWI and Class C misdemeanor operator never licensed.
  • Madison County police arrested Dean C. Johnson, 50, of the 1600 block of West 17th Street, Anderson, at 10:22 a.m. Monday. No bond was set for Class D felony failure to appear, Civil contempt of court and Class C misdemeanor failure to appear.
  • State police arrested Jefferson P. Coleman, 54, of the 2800 block of Brentwood Drive, Anderson, at 12:54 p.m. Monday. No bond was set for Class D felony failure to appear.
  • Anderson police arrested Gerald M. Holbrook, 22, of the 1800 block of Drexel Drive, Anderson, at 1:50 p.m. Monday. No bond was set for Class A misdemeanor intimidation, Class B felony false informing and Class A misdemeanor invasion of privacy.
  • Anderson police arrested Michael D. Bennett, 51, of the 16300 block of East 191st Street, Noblesville, at 3 p.m. Monday. Bond was set at $5,000 for Class D felony intimidation.
  • Anderson police arrested Kristina M. Chappell, 31, homeless, at 8:31 p.m. Monday. Bond was set at $20,000 for Class B felony burglary, Class D felony possession of a controlled substance and Class D felony theft.
  • Anderson police arrested Robert J. Johnson, 39, of the 2600 block of Lincoln Street, Anderson, at 11:15 p.m. Monday. Bond was set at $5,000 for two counts of Class D felony domestic battery.
  • Anderson police arrested Brandon J. Fogle, 30, of the 2800 block of Central Avenue, Anderson, at 2:13 a.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $5,000 for Class A misdemeanor violation of probation, Class D felony theft and Class D felony fraud.
  • Chesterfield police arrested James A. Ryan, 18, of the 1200 block of West Fourth Street, Anderson, at 4:54 a.m. Tuesday. Ryan posted bail of $5,000 for Class D felony possession of a controlled substance.
  • Anderson police arrested Thomas J. Gates, 51, of the 100 block of Susie Lane, Anderson, at 5:51 a.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $20,000 for Class B felony manufacturing meth, Class D felony possession of meth, Class D felony possession of precursors and Class D felony maintaining a common nuisance.
  • Anderson police arrested Joni S. Gates, 59, of the 100 block of Susie Lane, Anderson, at 5:51 a.m. Tuesday. Gates posted bail of $20,000 for Class B felony manufacturing meth, Civil failure to appear, Class D felony possession of meth, Class D felony possession of precursors and Class D felony maintaining a common nuisance.
  • Alexandria police arrested Jerrod G. Baysinger, 35, of the 100 block of Clinton Street, Alexandria, at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday. Baysinger posted bail of $4,000 for Class C misdemeanor OWI.
  • Pendleton police arrested Nathan R. Rhodes, 28, of the 6100 block of South White Oaks Drive, Anderson, at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $3,000 for Class A misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana and Class A misdemeanor public intoxication.
  • Madison County police arrested Robert J. Ryle, 36, of the 2500 block of South Madison Avenue, Anderson, at 9:59 a.m. Tuesday. No bond was set for Class A misdemeanor battery and Class A misdemeanor probation violation.
  • Anderson police arrested Leslie M. Gannon, 38, of the 400 block of West 22nd Street, Anderson, at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $200 for Class A misdemeanor court commitment.
  • Anderson police arrested Timothy E. Kates, 31, of the 200 block of West Second Street, Anderson, at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $4,000 for Class D felony violation of suspension and Class A misdemeanor false informing.
  • Madison County police arrested Toshia M. Willis, 28, of the 300 block of East 13th Street, Anderson, at 2:31 p.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $750 for Civil contempt of court.
  • Anderson police arrested Jennifer L. Stringfellow, 39, of the 600 block of East Ninth Street, Anderson, at 4:13 p.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $500 for three counts of Civil contempt of court.
  • Madison County police arrested Howard S. Carlton, 46, of the 6900 block of North County Road 700 West, Markleville, at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday. Bond was set at $5,000 for Class D felony home improvement fraud.
  • Anderson police arrested Christopher L. Aynes, 42, of the 700 block of East 21st Street, Anderson at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday. No bond was set for Class A misdemeanor invasion of privacy.

"A lot of them kept going there because of my dad even after he passed away," he said. "And they didn't deserve this."
