The Herald Bulletin

---- — ELWOOD — Red Gold, America’s largest privately owned tomato and canned tomato food processor, has made a $1,000 donation to Elwood Elementary School. The school's "Books 4 U" program was selected by the employees of Red Gold’s corporate office to receive a gift from their philanthropy team.

The check was presented to Bev Groover, Elwood Elementary’s principal.“Many of our students have no books at home and this is a problem we must fix,” said Groover. Book’s 4 U is a need-based program to provide children who have little or no resources at home with material to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

“Red Gold is excited to give back while helping to shape the education and development of the future leaders of our community,” said Tim Ingle, Red Gold vice president of human resources.
