Outage leaves west side residents without power for an hour

ANDERSON, Ind. — An outage at the city’s Park Road substation left about 5,000 residents without power for a little more than an hour on Friday.

According to police transmissions and posts on the City of Anderson’s Facebook page, the outage began at about 4:28 p.m. and affected Anderson’s west side from the Greenbriar Addition to 38th Street. Anderson Light and Power received about 2,000 phone calls reporting the outage.

Power was restored at 5:40 p.m. when crews completed repairs to the substation. The mayor’s office announced that some homeowners or businesses might need to reset their circuit breakers.

The office also announced it’s investing to find an improved method of receiving outage reports.
