Man accused of leading police on high-speed chase released on bail

(Continued)

Burnett said Summitville police were taking the lead on the investigation, but no representative from Summitville could be reached on Sunday. He also said he’s never personally dealt with Miller, who lives just outside Alexandria, but knew the man has had issues with law enforcement in the past.

Miller pleaded guilty to a felony for receiving stolen property in 1999, but the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor last year. He’s also pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in 2003, nonsupport of a dependent child in 2006 and probation violation charges in 2009.
