'Truly' auditions set

ANDERSON — Chelsea Jackman, who received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater studies from Ball State University this month, has written a new play about finding and keeping faith. What happened to bring a pagan Roman centurion steeped in idolatry to look at a Jewish carpenter on a cross and say, “Truly! This Man was the Son of God!”?

“Truly” is the creative attempt to answer that question by showing the struggle to find faith — and to keep it in a world bent on destroying it.

All proceeds from the performances will be donated to charity: 10 percent to University Christian Church, Muncie, and 90 percent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.

Actors needed. Males between 18 and 35 years old should come with head shot to the deli tables in Kroger at Scatterfield and Cross Street, Anderson, between 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday or call 606-0822 for an alternate audition time. The audition will consist of cold readings (script cuts will be provided). Actors should be ready to tour Indiana in late summer and early fall. One-night performances; dates to be determined.
