Girl OK after running into vehicle

PENDLETON, Ind. — An 8-year-old girl is OK after she collided with a vehicle Sunday, police said.

But it wasn’t the vehicle that hit her — she hit it.

The girl, Alexis Sutton, ran out of a driveway in the 8700 block of Surrey Drive in Pendleton and hit a passing vehicle, said Madison County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Brian Bell.

The driver, Crystal Stewart, 36, of Terre Haute, may not have seen the girl due to vehicles parked on either side of the driveway.

Alexis hit the front driver’s side fender, which was damaged in the incident. She was treated on-scene for minor abrasions, Bell said.
