NEW CASTLE — The Tribal Drum of the Miami Nation of Indiana will perform on July 20 at Summit Lake State Park as part of the property’s annual Native American Weekend.
The concert will be at 7 p.m. at the naturalist campfire ring in the park campground.
Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and coolers for a night of traditional Native American drum music. The concert is the focal point for a day of learning about the culture of the Native Americans of Indiana. Throughout the day, Native Americans will demonstrate their crafts, including building dream catchers and wicciups, throwing the atlatl and more.
The concert and day’s events are free, but the standard gate fee of $5 per in-state vehicle or $7 per out-of-state vehicle will be charged.
