Associate Editor Dick dies at 60

The Herald Bulletin


Steve Dick, associate editor of The Herald Bulletin, died at home Monday night of natural causes.

Dick, 60, worked at The Herald Bulletin, directing news coverage for the past eight years. Before that, he worked at The Herald Bulletin's sister paper, The Kokomo Tribune, and had also worked for the Alexandria Times-Tribune.

Dick was a native and resident of Muncie and a Ball State graduate. He served in the U.S. Navy.

His weekly political column was published in Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. newspapers across the country. CNHI is the parent company of The Herald Bulletin. 

For several years, he co-wrote the popular Steve & Lynelle advice column. He also guided The Herald Bulletin's election coverage and helped report on many significant stories, most notably the Mallard Lake Landfill. He was also an award-winning editorial writer.

Dick was second in charge of The Herald Bulletin's newsroom and was charged with coordinating the newspaper's state and national coverage and serving on the editorial board.
