---- — Doctors of Dixieland at Central Christian

ANDERSON — Central Christian Church will host The Doctors of Dixieland at its 10th annual Jazz Sunday Worship Service to be held Sunday at 10 a.m.

Becky Chappell (clarinet), Sarah Scharbrough McLaughlin (piano/vocals), John Huntoon (trombone), Jeff McLaughlin (drums), Mark Murray (trumpet) and Stephen Scharbrough (bass) make up the band.

Central is located on the corner of 10th and Jackson. A ramp and lift to the sanctuary are located on 10th Street. During worship, a nursery for children under 3 years old is provided. Upcoming events at Anderson Zion

ANDERSON — Anderson Zion Baptist Church men’s ministry presents the Men’s Day song fest, “Men, Men, Men,” tonight at 5 p.m.

On Sunday, the men’s ministry will present Men’s Day with special guest Louis Jackson of United in Christ Church, Anderson. Service begins at 3:30 p.m.

Fortville Nazarene to host dinner concert

FORTVILLE — The public is invited to a dinner concert at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. in the gym. Featured guests that evening will be the 3rd Row Boys Quartet from Indianapolis. The meal will feature food from the southern states and the cost is $10 per person.

Make reservations by calling 485-6443 and then pay at the door. The deadline for reservations is Wednesday. Proceeds benefit a mission trip to Kenya, Africa in January 2014. Any questions, contact the church office. The church is at 701 S. Maple St., Fortville.

Youth Day set for Sunday

ANDERSON — Christ Temple Church Youth-n-Empowerment, 1610 W. 22nd St., Anderson, will host its annual Youth Day with inspirational speaking, songs and school supplies give-away on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 4:30 p.m.

Coleman Looper Family in concert

ANDERSON — The community is invited to a bluegrass, gospel concert performed by The Coleman Looper Family at 6 p.m. Sunday at East 38th St. Free Will Baptist Church, 1125 E. 38th St., Anderson.

The band from Monterey,Tenn., is an acoustical group with trio and quartet harmony vocals. Their website is www.colemanlooperfamily.com. There is no charge for this event; however, a love offering will be taken to help cover travel expenses.

Park Place COG to host ‘Singspiration”

ANDERSON — Fred Harting will host “SingSpiration: A Night of Favorites” at 6 p.m. Sunday at Park Place Church of God, 501 College Drive.

This will be an evening of hymns and gospel songs with solos, duets, trios, and quartets. More than 20 musicians will be involved in the evening’s presentation. There is no cost for this evening of song.

In the 10:30 a.m., morning worship service, there will be a time of heritage singing with worship leader Pastor Carma Wood. Sunday times: Sunday school for all ages at 9 a.m.; The Gathering in between at 10 a.m.; and morning worship at 10:30 a.m.

Parkview Nazarene welcomes Anderson

ANDERSON — Nationally-known contemporary Christian singer Doug Anderson will sing at Parkview Nazarene, located at 10th Street and Rangeline Road, at 6 p.m. Sunday.

For more information, call 643-5851. Anderson is an original founder of the award-winning Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. He has added new duties as a featured solo artist. Also appearing will be Parkview’s own gospel quartet, The Appointed Quartet.

Guest musician to be at Bethel UMC

ANDERSON -- Bethel United Methodist Church will welcome Michael Glen Bell as its guest musician this Sunday during the 9:30 a.m. morning worship.

Bell, a classically trained guitarist, is a recording artist and a studio musician. His CDs will be available for purchase. The church is at 4011 W. 200S, at the corner of 38th Street and Layton Road. For more information call 643-5554.

Singspiration Sunday set at Linwood

ANDERSON -- The Church at Linwood, 561 W. 600N, Anderson, welcomes special guest Kelly Marshall and Connie Gardner on Singspiration Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. sharing the songs that are on their hearts. Also singing will be the Linwood Singers including Pastor John Ray, Shirley and Richard Retherford and Joyce Patterson.
