Library donates book to correctional facility

PENDLETON — Pendleton Correctional Facility (PCF) Recreation Coordinator Lisa Ash recently announced the development of a collaboration between the Pendleton Correctional Complex and the Pendleton Community Public Library.

Christine Bellessis, who serves as a reference librarian, has a new plan to pass along books left over from the Friends of the Library’s quarterly book sale.

The leftover books will be donated to Pendleton Correctional Complex Facilities for use in their numerous libraries, satellite libraries and within secured housing locations. Children’s books received through the donation will be placed in visiting waiting areas for use by offenders’ children visiting the Pendleton facilities.
