---- — INGALLS — A Greenfield man was airlifted with head, back and neck injuries after a three-car accident Friday night in southern Madison County.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash on Indiana 67 just south of County Road 750 West near Ingalls about 7 p.m.

One of the drivers, James Yingst, 53, was transported via helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after his Chevy S-10 truck collided with two other cars. He had injuries to his head, neck and back, but his condition was not known at press time.

Major Brian Bell of the sheriff's department said the two other drivers involved in the accident, Nathan Farley of Noblesville and Katrina Odom of Indianapolis, were not injured and refused treatment at the scene. A passenger in Odom's car also was uninjured.

Bell said the cause of the accident was not known and it would take some time before the Madison County Accident Team knew for sure. It was not apparent if alcohol was involved.

The Pendleton, Fortville and Ingalls Police Departments all assisted the Madison County deputies with the accident scene. Ingalls Fire Department was also dispatched to the crash.
