Anderson police arrested Lawrence D. Taylor, 46, Costello Street, Anderson. 7:45 a.m. Friday. 2300 block of Charles Street. Suspicion of theft. Bond is $5,000.

Anderson police arrested Mark T. Miles, 46, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Anderson. 1:33 a.m. Friday. 1000 block of Main Street. Suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Bond is $5,000.

Alexandria police arrested Anthony D. Blount Jr., 25, homeless. 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Intersection of Indiana 9 and County Road 1100 North. Suspicion of possession of marijuana and warrants for domestic battery, intimidation and invasion of privacy. Bond is $40,000.

Anderson police arrested Andrea C. Williams, 25, Ohio Avenue, Anderson. 10:35 p.m. Thursday. 1200 block of East 28th Street. Suspicion of invasion of privacy. Bond is $2,500.

Indiana State Police arrested Jeffrey S. Miller, 42, Main Street, Anderson. 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Intersection of Noble and 29th streets. Suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Bond is $5,000.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Rayka S. Menifee, 22, Nichol Avenue, Anderson. 2:50 p.m. Thursday. 1500 block of North Madison Avenue. Suspicion of identity deception and false informing and warrants for failure to appear and contempt of court. Bond is $5,000.

Indiana State Police arrested Kenneth R. Nelson, 51, East 10th Street, Anderson. 2:40 a.m. Friday. Intersection of East 53rd and Jaysue streets. Suspicion of operating while intoxicated and public intoxication. Released.

Alexandria police arrested Dannie D. Cox, 50, East County Road 1100 North, Alexandria. 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Intersection of Indiana 9 and County Road 1100 North. Suspicion of possession of marijuana. Released.

Indiana State Police arrested Rebecca L. Shaw, 23, South West Street, Alexandria. 2:22 a.m. Friday. Intersection of Scatterfield Road and 53rd Street, Anderson. Suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Released.

    The worst-of-the-worst abandoned and uninhabitable residential houses in Anderson, Alexandria and Elwood will soon start tumbling down, say officials in all three cities. Demolition of the houses is being made possible through a federal loan initiative administered by the state called the Blight Elimination Program.

The company received no bill for electricity usage from the Anderson utility office for five months, despite numerous attempts they say they made to correct the problem.

That's good, of course, but if 15 more fans had taken a few minutes out of their afternoon to donate blood, 72 lives could have been saved, said Julie Gordon of the Indiana Blood Center.
