ALEXANDRIA, Ind. — A two-vehicle accident near Alexandria sent one person to the hospital Saturday morning.

According to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson, Blake B. Buckles, 17, of Alexandria, was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram truck northbound on County Road 100 East at CR 1000 North around 11 a.m. when he disregarded a stop sign and crossed into the path of Robert O. Menhennett II, 55, of Alexandria, driving a 2012 Ford Fusion.

Menhennett, who had the right of way, struck the passenger side of Buckles’ truck, Richardson said.

The truck then spun, landed on its side and slid into a utility pole.

Menhennett complained of chest and neck pain and was taken to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, Richardson said, while Buckles and his 17-year-old passenger signed refusals with their parents’ consent.
