CATS to offer holiday retail route

ANDERSON — The City of Anderson Transit System will provide holiday retail route service beginning Monday and ending Jan. 4, 11 a.m. -6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. There will be no Sunday service.

Fares for the shuttle will remain $1 each way, including one transfer.

Designated stops include Mounds Mall, Lowes, Trader Bakers (at Target), Menards, Goodwill, Culver’s, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Shoe Carnival, Kohl’s, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, Marshalls, Jo Ann Fabrics, Big Lots, Rose’s and Ollie’s.

Legislative preview Monday at library

ANDERSON — A preview of the 2014 Indiana legislative session will be at the Anderson Public Library at 8 a.m. Monday.

The public is invited to hear local state legislators speak and to ask questions related to Indiana law and the upcoming legislative session.

The preview is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Anderson, The Madison County Chamber of Commerce and the Anderson Public Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Health Marketplace session on Monday

ANDERSON — St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital will provide a free session 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday to assist people interested in learning about and enrolling in the Indiana Health Insurance Marketplace, part of the Affordable Care Act.

Use the main hospital entrance and follow the signs to the program on 4 North. Call 646-8240 to schedule a personalized appointment with a trained counselor.

Man pleading guilty to killing teen

BLOOMFIELD — One of the men charged with killing a 19-year-old woman whose body was dumped in a rural southwestern Indiana lake has agreed to plead guilty to murder charges.

The plea agreement for 26-year-old Jordan Buskirk has him admitting to charges of murder, rape and criminal confinement in the death of Katelyn Wolfe of Linton. The agreement was filed Tuesday in Greene County Superior Court.
