MIDDLETOWN, Ind. — One driver was seriously injured in a crash Monday at Ind. 236 and County Road 450 East.

Timothy John Brinson, 46, of Middletown was taken to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital with serious injuries, said Major Brian K. Bell of the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

Brinson was driving a 1993 Chevrolet Blazer which collided into the rear of a 2008 Honday Odyssey van driven by Laura L. Hargrave, 38, of Middletown.

Hargrave's vehicle was stopped and facing westbound at the interesction while she waited to turn south.

The force of the impact pushed Hargrave's van off the road and into a fence on the north side of Ind. 236. A witness told investigators that it appeared Brinson did not breake before impact, Bell said.

Hargrave was treated and released with minor injuries, Bell said.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Chesterfield Fire Department, Rural Metro and Emergency Management.
