The Herald Bulletin

ANDERSON, Ind. — The East Central Indiana Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program welcomed 10 new volunteer child advocates into the agency on April 23.

Judge G. George Pancol administered the oath to the community volunteers at a ceremony and reception in his courtroom at the Madison County Government Center. The CASA volunteers who completed the spring 2013 training are: Liza Buczek, Melanie Denniston, Ginger Evans, Maggie Jones, Karen Shorette, Travis Smith, India Watkins and Laureen White, all of Anderson; Kelsey Antrim of Frankton; and Joleen Bottorff of Greenfield.

CASA is accepting applications for new volunteer advocates for the fall training class. Over 230 children still remain on a waiting list for a child advocate in Madison County. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, contact volunteer trainer Myra Rose at 649-7215 or at mrose@MadisonCounty.IN.gov to learn more about volunteering and to set up an interview.
