ANDERSON, Ind. — Police believe a suspect in Sunday’s drug-related shooting has left Anderson and is headed to Terre Haute.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Darius Alexander Hardiman, 25, is encouraged to contact the Anderson Police Department at 765-648-6758, Anderson Police Department spokesman Chad Boynton said in a press release.

Hardiman was described as a black male with light complexion, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, and was last known to be wearing his hair in braids. He faces charges of attempted murder, armed robbery and dealing marijuana.

Antonio McMullen, 25, was shot twice in the head on Sunday near the intersection of 18th and Nelle streets. After a stay in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, McMullen has been released and is expected to fully recover, according to police. Boynton said he believes the incident was drug-related.

According to the release, Hardiman is from the Terre Haute area and was recently released from prison after serving a sentence for armed robbery. Detectives believe he developed Anderson ties while in prison. He’s believed to be heading back to Terre Haute, but he also has ties in Evansville.

Hardiman is considered armed and dangerous, according to the release.

Police arrested Marcus D. Jones, 29, of Anderson on Monday in connection with the shooting. As of Thursday, Jones was still being held in Madison County Jail on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery and dealing marijuana.
