ANDERSON, Ind. —
Anderson police arrested a homeless man Wednesday night in connection with the stabbing of a 49-year-old Anderson man, according to police.
An APD press release states Timothy C. Haney, 58, was arrested on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, a Class B felony, and booked into the Madison County Jail.
It was around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night that police responded to a 911 call in the 2100 block of Pearl Street, where they found Haney covered in blood. He told officers he had stabbed someone, the press release said.
When officers entered the victim’s house, they found him bleeding from multiple stab wounds to the head, body and hand.
Police were able to get a statement from the victim, who said Haney had stabbed him, before he was transported to Saint John’s for treatment.
Witnesses told police that Haney came to their house covered in blood and carrying a knife. They told police he said he’d just stabbed someone.
Police believe the assault was the result of an undisclosed dispute between the two men.
