Indianapolis man accused of raping woman in Pendleton

PENDLETON, Ind. — A man accused of raping a woman in a parking lot at Pendleton Heights High School is still in Madison County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Errol Edmond, 33, of Indianapolis, is accused of raping a woman on the night of Aug. 11. He faces charges of criminal confinement and rape for the incident. Jail records indicated he was still incarcerated as of Friday night.

According to a probable cause affidavit of the incident, the victim reported she was working at the Academy of Athletic Arts at 3187 W. Angle Road in Pendleton that night, and at the end of the work day she was assisting a coach she knew only as “Scooby.”

After the two left the building and locked the doors, the man told her he had something for her in his car. She told police she believed he had college scholarship applications, but when they reached the car, the suspect forced her into the backseat, kept the doors locked and drove them to an empty parking lot at the high school.

She said once they reached the high school, “Scooby” raped her, then allowed her to leave. According to her, she walked across the road to her vehicle and drove herself home.

The victim told police that she and the man had been exchanging nude pictures over the past few weeks.
