Fresh produce giveaway Wednesday

ANDERSON — The Anderson Impact Center in collaboration with Second Harvest Food Bank will have a fresh produce giveaway at 2 p.m. Wednesday (while supplies last) at The Anderson Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.

Community Hospital Anderson also will be onsite from 1 to 5 p.m. to provide enrollment for the Affordable Healthcare Act Insurance program.

Friends of Mounds to meet Thursday

ANDERSON — The Friends of Mounds State Park will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Multipurpose Room in the Nature Center.

A variety of subjects will be discussed. The public is invited to attend.

Transit workshop set for Thursday

ELWOOD — Two community transit workshops will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Elwood Public Library. Another workshop will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the community room of the Pendleton Public Library.

All residents, community leaders, employers, human service representatives and elected officials are encouraged to attend.

These workshops are to gather information from the public regarding transit needs in Madison County as well as portions of Delaware and Hancock counties.

Correctional facility hosts job fair

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Correctional Facility (Indiana Reformatory) will host a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at its training center, 4490 W. Reformatory Road.

It is accepting positions for correctional officer trainees. Bring your high school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license and second form of ID (such as birth certificate, passport or Social Security card); and any documents relevant to the position for which you are applying.

Offers of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.

Worker killed after pinned by forklift

INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities say a worker at an Indianapolis recycling plant was killed after being pinned between a forklift and a guard rail.

More than 200 friends and family members gathered at Edgewood Baptist Church this afternoon to pay their respects to Jesse, who was killed April 6 in a traffic accident on Indiana 32.
