Flood watch issued for tonight through Wednesday morning

ANDERSON, Ind. — Heavy rainfall tonight is expected to cause central Indiana creek and stream water levels to rise significantly.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for several counties, including Madison, which is in effect from tonight until Wednesday morning.

The weather service said to expect rain amounts up to 3 inches, due to a strong cold front moving across the area. It said that could cause flooding in some low areas.

Residents of the affected counties are advised to monitor local forecasts in case the watch turns into a warning.

“Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop,” the weather service said.
