ANDERSON, Ind. —
A failure to yield right of way led to a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon and sent two to the hospital, police said.
According to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson, John S. Kirkman, 57, of Morgantown, was driving a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT westbound crossing Indiana 9 from Scatterfield Road when he failed to yield right of way and pulled in front of Cari A. Bowling, 43, of Anderson.
He said Bowling was unable to stop and hit Kirkman’s vehicle on the driver’s side door.
Kirkman had to be extricated by rescue workers and was taken to Community Hospital in Anderson complaining of pain, Richardson said. Bowling was taken to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital with complaint of pain.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. and Richland, Frankton and Union Township fire departments and rescue units along with Seals Medic assisted.
