Anderson Public Library recognizes employees
Anderson Public Library presented service awards to 12 employees on April 18, during the annual Staff Development Day. Recipients of these awards by years of service were:
35 years — Frank Lucas
25 years — Beth Oljace
20 years — Tony Fort and Sheila Love
10 years — Susan Hughes and Anita Fuller
5 years — Sue Norris, Jolene Ray, Shawn Henson, Steve Rodecap, Nancy Thomas and Tim Crum
Noonan wins speech contest
Michael Sweigart, Richmond, and Tim Noonan, Anderson, competed in the Toastmasters International Speech Contest at Kokomo March 22. The contest identified the competitor for the District 11 International Speech Contest at Nashville, Ind., on April 19.
Noonan won the Anderson Club’s speech contest.
Sweigart, a member of the Anderson club, represented Whitewater Valley Toastmasters Club in the competition. Sweigart earned the second-place trophy.
The winner of the Division G Contest was Colin William of West Lafayette.
Chief Anderson Toastmasters Club 715 meets at 7 p.m. at Anderson Public Library on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in the third floor Miami Room. The public is invited to attend. Toastmasters participation gives members the opportunity to practice communication and leadership skills which build self confidence and personal growth.
