Bariatric Weight Loss Support Group: Meets monthly at Saint John’s Health System beginning Tuesday. Bereavement Support Group: Meets at Bethany Christian Church, 1920 N. Caregiver Support Group: 1 to 2 p.m. (This group meets the second Monday of each month.) The group meets in the Kennedy Branch Library, McGalliard Road, Muncie. Comprehensive Mental Health Services is a partner in the program. There is no cost to attend, and those who might need respite care for their loved ones while they attend should call Melanie Fields, caregiver program manager for LifeStream Services, to see if there might be some help available. Caring for the Caregiver: Community Hospital Anderson offers a monthly support group for individuals and their families who are touched by a chronic, debilitating or life-threatening illness. Coping with Loss: Have you or someone you know experienced the loss of a loved one? "Coping with Loss" is an eight-session grief support group being offered through Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes. Grief Counselor Rob Mifflin, facilitates this class through two different formats. The first and third Tuesday of every month is a group for men, women or couples who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The second and fourth Tuesday of every month is designed uniquely for young adults 19 to 50 who have been widowed. These groups meet from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carriage House at Robert D. Diabetes Support Group: Community Hospital Anderson’s Diabetes support group meets on the first Monday of every month (excluding holidays) in the lower level of Community Hospital Anderson’s 1601 Building. This building is located behind the hospital, on the campus of Community Anderson. Diabetes Support Group: Saint John’s offers a diabetes support group for all people with diabetes and their families. The group will meet the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Saint John’s cafeteria. This is a support group to assist in the rehabilitation and education of persons who have or will have ileostomy, colostomy, urostomy or other ostomy surgery. Muncie Area Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Group: Chris Karson, the speaker for this month’s meeting is a member of the Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities. He will present "Survivor," a program about meeting the challenges of having a disability. The group meets at the Hazelwood Christian Church, 1400 University Ave., Muncie, at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. NAMI CARE: (National Alliance on Mental Illness Consumers Advocating Recovery through Empowerment). The group meets the first and third Saturday of each month at noon at Crestview Center. NAMI Support Group: Meets at 7:30 p.m. at Colonial United Methodist Church, 538 E. 31st St. The group will meet every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. -- For all persons dealing with mental health issues, a mental illness diagnosis or relating to a family member who is. This group will celebrate diversity and include persons from all faith backgrounds and those who are agnostic. We want to create a safe place where all ideas, all issues, all concerns, all religious and faith questions and all relationships can be discussed.
