Drive-in memories? Let us know
There were a lot of summer memories created at former movie drive-ins in the area and we’d like to hear them. Maybe the first date with your spouse was at a drive-in. Maybe you’re the one who accidentally started driving away with a speaker attached to your window. Also, we’d like to hear if you worked at a movie drive-in in the Madison County area or if you have any photos from drive-in movies. Please send your stories via e-mail to newsroom@heraldbulletin.com.
We plan to publish some of the stories in an upcoming issue of Madison magazine. The story should be about a movie drive-in experience in Madison County.

Join the Friends of Mounds State Park for their first fundraiser plant sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Visitor Center. These aren’t just any plants though. Most are Indiana native plants and wildflowers that were grown from seeds harvested from the butterfly garden at Mounds State Park. Native plants and wildflowers are hardy and can be planted in less than perfect soils, also requiring less water, according to the Friends’ press release. Plants range in price from $1 to $5, and there are at least 20 different plant species to choose from (while supplies last.)
For more details about specific plants, or for questions about the sale, call the Interpretive Center at (765) 649-8128.
