Visteon bankruptcy poses problem

CONNERSVILLE — The recent bankruptcy filing by Visteon Corp. could derail efforts by Connersville economic development officials to land a major employer.

Carbon Motors Corp. is considering the former Visteon plant in Connersville as a site for its manufacturing headquarters. However, the building is tied up in Visteon’s bankruptcy proceedings. The city was working on a deal to purchase the building, but it did not close before Visteon’s filing in May.

State reveals revised agriculture plan

INDIANAPOLIS — Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman says the state is moving to become a global leader in innovation and commercialization for food, fuel and fiber production.

She has revealed an update to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s strategic plan, designed to guide ISDA over the next four years.

‘Christmas in June’ for AIT employees

INDIANAPOLIS — The chief executive officer of AIT Laboratories calls it “Christmas in June” for his employees. Dr. Michael Evans is referring to the $2 million he shared with his nearly 300 workers in a net profit sharing bonus.
