ANDERSON — Carlene Gunter, public relations director at the YMCA, will be the speaker on Monday, July 13, for AARP 1686.
The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Public Library.
The local chapter will also have a breakfast at Perkins at 8 a.m. this Wednesday.
Blood drive in memory of Kim Dent
DALEVILLE — A blood drive in memory of Kim Dent will be held by Boyce Systems on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at their facility in the Heartland Business Center on Ind. 67. Dent, a five-year employee of Komputrol, a software division of Boyce, underwent a multi-organ transplant due to a liver disease.
Sudden and unexpected complications arose during her recovery and she passed away 24 days after surgery on Feb. 8, 2008.

Lapel Boy Scouts seeking donations
LAPEL — Boy Scouts of America Troop 361 of Lapel is having an annual garage sale during the Village Fair in Lapel.
The sale will be July 9–12. The troop is asking for donations of items, excluding clothing, to be sold during the fair to help defray costs of monthly scout activities.
