Christ Lutheran installs new pastor
The public is cordially invited to join the “family” of Christ Lutheran Church, 716 Rainbow Blvd., as they install the new senior pastor, Rev. Dr. Gary J. Carstens, at 7 p.m., at the church. Rev. Dr. Daniel P. May, President of the Indiana District, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod will be presiding. Pastor Carstens and his wife, Linda, have moved to Anderson after serving a congregation in Chicago. He has been in the ministry 32 years. They are now making their home in Pendleton.
Lookalike contest planned for Oct. 11
Are you often mistaken for a member of your family? Do others do a double take when you walk in? Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Women’s Ministry will hold its first Look Alike and Fashion Contest Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 1 p.m.
Mothers/daughters, fathers/sons, and all family members are welcome. Twins, however, will be excluded. There will be cash prizes for first- and second-place winners. The public is invited for fun, food and fellowship. Refreshments will be provided. Entry fee will be $10 per couple, and entrants must be present to win. No photos accepted. Contest entry deadline is Oct. l.

Church mini-revival Saturday, Sunday
Anderson Church of God of Prophecy will be hosting a mini-revival Saturday and Sunday.
Brother Ricky Cowles will be coming to the church, 3029 Mounds Road, Anderson, 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, to share from the Word of God. Cowles is currently a lay minister with the Church of God of Prophecy and youth pastor at Castle Heights Community Church in Kentucky. He and his wife, Miranda, live in Smiths Grove, Ky.
Family Reunion at Grace Baptist
All members, former members, visitors and friends are invited to attend Grace Baptist Church’s annual Family Reunion Sunday for a day of preaching, special music and dinner on the grounds.
The afternoon service, celebrating GBC’s 50th anniversary, features special speaker Kevin Plew, an alumnus of and current teacher at Indiana Christian Academy (a ministry of Grace Baptist Church).
Another highlight of the celebration will include a testimony from former member, Melody Childs, who now serves with her husband as a missionary in Australia.
The schedule for the day is small Bible study groups (9:30 a.m.), morning worship service and Lord’s supper (10:30 a.m.), Family Reunion dinner (12:30 p.m.) and afternoon service (2 p.m.).
