Ladies Night Out preview Wednesday
The Ladies Night Out Preview Party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lookworthy Face and Body Retreat, 1617 E. 53rd St., Anderson. During the event, members of the Anderson Fire Department will take donations to “Fill the Boot.” The event is a preview for the fifth annual Ladies Night Out, set for Nov. 8, at Hoosier Park. Proceeds go to the Peoples Burn Foundation. For more information, call (765) 644-6028.
Hospital offering weight-loss class
Community Hospital Anderson is offering a 10-week weight-loss class, open to the public. The class is taught by a registered dietitian, and meets once a week for 10 weeks. Meeting dates are Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25, Dec. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and Jan. 6. Meetings will be at 8 a.m. or noon and will last 30 minutes. The cost is $75.
Participants will receive education sessions, an individualized meal plan, dining out guide and weigh-ins. The program is designed and instructed by a registered dietitian and a registered nurse. Space is limited to the first 20 registered individuals. The class will be held in the Diabetes Care Center located in the lower level of the 1601 Building, on the Community Anderson campus. BSU employees plan craft show
Ball State University’s annual Craft Show and Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Delaware County Fairgrounds Memorial Building on North Wheeling Avenue. It will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Ball State Employee Activities Committee sponsors the show. There will be more than 75 booths selling all types of crafts. The public is invited and admission is free. Refreshments will be sold.
Diabetes meeting planned for Friday
There will be a free informational meeting on insulin pumps for people living with diabetes, from 1 to 3 p.m.. Friday at the Community Hospital Diabetes Center, 1601 Medical Arts Blvd., Anderson. There will be light refreshments and a free gift for attending.
