Gaithers in benefit concert Nov. 30

INDIANAPOLIS — Gospel singer and Alexandria resident Bill Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band will be performing a Christmas spectacular to benefit the Wheeler Mission at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The concert will feature the Central Indiana Mass Choir and the Indianapolis Children's Choir.This concert also includes Bill Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band — Michael English, David Phelps, Mark Lowry, Wes Hampton — and The Isaacs, The Martins, Buddy Greene, Jeff Taylor, Gene McDonald, Angela Primm, Charlotte Ritchie, Kevin Williams, Greg Ritchie and Matthew Holt.

Bird programs at Mounds Dec. 7

ANDERSON — Mounds State Park, 4306 Mounds Road, will host bird-themed programs for kids and adults on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Participants should meet at the visitors center for activities at set times. Activities are:

- 9:30 a.m.: Feed the Birds.

- 10 a.m.: Feathered Friends Hike.

- 11 a.m.: Film: BBC’s “The Life of Birds.”

- 1 p.m.: Kids Backyard Feeder Crafts

Church hosts holiday cooking class

MATTHEWS — The Dec. 14 “Homemade from the Heart” Cooking Class at Epworth United Methodist Church, 105 W. Eighth St., Matthews, will feature a holiday theme edible centerpiece, perfect for a hostess gift or a fun snack.

Participants will make their own festive Christmas tree arrangement using assorted fresh fruits. Class will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The $5 fee covers all supplies but participants should bring a paring knife and cutting board. Preregistration by Dec. 8 is requested.

Neal McCoy brings show to Honeywell Center

WABASH — Country artist Neal McCoy will host two shows at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Honeywell Center.

Most recently, McCoy has recorded an album, XII, on Blaster Records, which was co-produced by Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, with Brent Rowan. Shelton and Lambert sang background vocals on the first single from the project, “A-OK.” McCoy also has released Pride: A Tribute To Charley Pride, with guest appearances by Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker and Raul Malo of The Mavericks.

40&8 Christmas dinner Dec. 5

ANDERSON — Voiture 510 40&8, 1600 Rangeline Road, will have its annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, for members and their families. Cost is $5.
