---- — Luau fundraiser to be Aug. 10

ANDERSON — An August Luau will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

This is a fundraiser for the Rangeline Academic League. The Rangeline Community Center and AIMS are sponsoring the event. The cost is $5. The disc jockey will be Buddy Patterson. For more information, call Darrell Baylor at 644-7177.

Cross Road serving up spaghetti

ANDERSON — A spaghetti dinner hosted by Cross Roads United Methodist Church Youth will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2000 N. Scatterfield Road.

The menu includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink. Cost is $7 for adults 12 and over; $5 for children, 5-11; and children under 4, eat free.

Elm Grove hosting dinner Saturday

ANDERSON — Elm Grove Christian Church, 2940 N. 300 W, will host a chicken noodles dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Children under the age of 3 eat free.

Psi Phi has chicken noodles dinner

MARKLEVILLE — Psi Phi Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority will host its annual chicken noodles dinner and silent auction during the Markleville Jamboree on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Markleville Community Park.

The meal will include mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, dessert and iced tea or lemonade. Adults are $7; kids under 10 are $3.

Back to School Bash is Saturday

ANDERSON — A Back to School Bash will be held on Saturday at New Covenant Ministry Center, 1224 E. 44th St.

Beginning at 11 a.m. and while supplies last, free backpacks filled with school supplies will be given to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Children must be present.

Cornerstone hosts Swap & Sale

MUNCIE -- Cornerstone Center for the Arts will host its first ever Swap & Sale – a sale that is a combination of a rummage sale and a surplus swap. The sale will take place Aug. 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St.

Choose from gently used items that Cornerstone no longer needs.

Bring a new or gently used donation and choose from one of the many items. To see the list of needed items, visit Or simply donate gently used items to be reused, recycled, or sold. Drop off dates for donations are Aug. 12, 13, 19, and 20 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please do not donate clothing items.
