Triad meeting set for Thursday

ANDERSON -- Triad will have a free “How to Improve your Brain Function” workshop this Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Anderson Mounds Mall in the theater area.

Speakers will be Dustin Ziegler from the Indiana Alzheimer’s Association who will talk about how people can reduce the chance of getting Alzheimer’s by taking better care of themselves. Also speaking on improving brain function will be Michelle Coop, Coordinator of Community Hospital’s Alzheimer’s Support Group and Dana Lakes, therapist from St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. There will be several informational handouts that people can take home with them.

APL budget committee to meet

ANDERSON -- The Anderson Public Library Budget Committee will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the board room of the library at 111 E. 12th St., Anderson.

Ice cream social Aug. 25

GREENFIELD -- Who doesn’t love ice cream in the summer time? the Hancock County Historical Society will hold an old-fashioned ice cream social on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 28 North Apple Street, located on the corner of Main Street (U.S. 40) and Apple Street in Greenfield.

Home churned ice cream with various toppings will be available. Drinks will be available also. Cost is $5 per serving. All proceeds go to assist in the upkeep and improvement of the Historical Society.

The Chapel & the Log Jail will be open for free tours at those times.

AHS Class of ‘66 to meet tonight

ANDERSON -- The Anderson High School Class of ‘66 will meet for dinner tonight at Frisch’s Big Boy, 500 N. Broadway St., Anderson, at 6 p.m.

This is a new dining location for the class. For more information, contact Dick Dunn at 617-0362 or Jane Barker at 378-3991.

Kokomo’s Senior Center reopens

KOKOMO -- The Kokomo Senior Citizens Center reopened Aug. 12 following an extensive renovation required by April’s record flooding.
