Wreaths Across America event today
ANDERSON — Honor all veterans by attending the Wreaths Across America ceremony at noon today at Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory and The Gardens at Willowcrest Park, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
The local ceremony will be held simultaneously withe others around the world to honor heroes that have served and are currently protecting our country.
Meeting hosted by motorcycle group
ANDERSON — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave., will host a VFW Motorcycle Group organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The VFW Motorcycle Group represents the VFW, which consists of the Men's Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary and regular members.
This open discussion is open to any and all riders.
Christmas dinner for DAV, Sunday
ANDERSON — The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 12 will host its Christmas dinner for members and their guests at 6 p.m. Sunday at Golden Corral.
Pathway of lights open in Muncie
MUNCIE — Meridian Health Services brings a holiday drive-through exhibit featuring more than 60,000 lights to Muncie beginning this weekend.
The driveway of lights pathway will take place at the Suzanne Gresham Center campus, 3620 W. White River Blvd. The exhibit will be featured from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today, Sunday and Dec. 21 and 22.
Paramount closing for holidays
ANDERSON — The Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom will be closed on the following dates for the holidays: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 23-25, and Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 30-31, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Hawks Nest taking donations

I&M to conduct aerial inspections beginning Monday
ANDERSON — Next week, Indiana Michigan Power will conduct helicopter aerial inspections on its high-voltage lines and towers in portions of central and western Indiana.
Work begins Monday in northern areas and moves to the south during the week.
Helicopters will fly over transmission lines in Delaware, Grant and Madison counties.
Storm prompts cancellation of Ind. Capitol event
INDIANAPOLIS — The threat of heavy weekend snow has prompted Gov. Mike Pence's office to cancel today's portion of Indiana's "Christmas at the Capitol" event.
The governor's office says this afternoon's musical events at the Indiana Statehouse were canceled due to the impending storm that was forecast to dump several inches of snow on the Indianapolis area Friday night and early today.
The governor and Indiana first lady Karen Pence were still scheduled to take part in Friday evening's portion of the "Christmas at the Capitol" event that will feature holiday performances by students from nearly a dozen Indiana high schools and universities.
