APL to host candlelight ceremony

ANDERSON — The Animal Protection League will host a candlelight ceremony in honor of loved ones who have passed — humans and pets — from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Edge.

Cost of the wine tasting, appetizers and desserts, and luminaries is a $25 donation. RSVP needed by emailing maleahstringer@aol.com. If you simply want to participate in the candlelighting ceremony, come at 6 p.m. to get your candle and luminaries for $5 a candle. The blessing and lighting will be at 6:30 p.m.

If you cannot join us in person but want a candle lit for a loved one who has passed, send check to Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey St., Anderson, IN 46016.

Learn how to make the perfect bow

SUMMITVILLE — Are you decorating your own gifts this holiday season? Would you like to learn how to make a beautiful bow for those gifts?

Visit the Ralph E. Hazelbaker Library in Summitville on Saturday at 11 a.m. to learn how to make that perfect bow. You are encouraged to bring your own special ribbon. The library will also have a limited supply of ribbon.

Legion hosts breakfast Dec. 21

ANDERSON — The American Legion Post 127, 4118 Columbus Ave., will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Price is $6. Carry-outs will be available.

Joybells ring at library concert

NEW CASTLE — Bells will be ringing at New Castle-Henry County Public Library, 376 S. 15th St., at 7 p.m. Thursday. The 2013 Noteworthy Performances series concludes with a concert featuring Kristine Stout, handbell soloist. Stout will perform a joyful variety Christmas program entitled “Joybells to the World” in the library’s auditorium.

Stout is a traveling handbell soloist based out of Clinton Township, Mich. She and her husband, Kirt, travel all over the United States sharing humor, energy, wit and music. Stout’s handbell solos and digital keyboard orchestrations are her own creations.

This free concert is made possible by Friends of the Library. Friends will accept donations for future events. The 2014 Noteworthy series begins with a Jan. 23 concert featuring the Caribbean sounds of Island Breeze.
