Voucher distribution rescheduled
ANDERSON — The Touchpoint A’la Carte, senior meal voucher distribution scheduled for today, has been canceled.
The vouchers will instead be distributed on Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Community Hospital Anderson Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Ave., located north of Community Hospital.
STD/HIV clinictime changed
ANDERSON — Madison County Health Department’s walk-in STD/HIV screening clinic will have a time change this week.
Services will be offered from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday. There will be no morning clinic on this date as the morning practitioner will be out of town.
Visitor Bureau’s luncheon Feb. 13
ANDERSON — The date of the Visitor Bureau’s annual meeting has been pushed back one day to Thursday, Feb. 13. The luncheon will still take place at the Gaither Music Studio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Anyone who has not replied with a RSVP is asked to do so by Friday. Those who have already sent a RSVP are asked to do so again for the new date.
Tonight’s top prize is $215 million
INDIANAPOLIS — The estimated $215 million top prize in tonight’s Powerball drawing is heating up the imagination of players across the state.
More than 17,000 players won prizes from $4 to $10,000 in Saturday night’s drawing. One of the two $10,000 winning tickets was purchased at Low Bob’s Discount Tobacco on East 53rd Street in Anderson.
Muncie hotel would have job training
MUNCIE — An advocacy group for the disabled is working on plans to build a hotel in downtown Muncie that will provide hospitality-industry training to its clients.
Arc of Indiana associate director Kim Dodson says the organization hopes to start construction this spring on the 150-room, six-story hotel near Muncie’s convention center.
Dodson tells The Star Press the group expects to sign a franchise agreement with an international hotel company within the next few weeks.
