Piano and strings concert at Central

ANDERSON — A free concert of classical and light classical music with piano and strings will be performed 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets.

Performing music by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev will be Xing-xing Nordmoe, violin; Ryan Grover, viola; Cullen O’Neil, cello; Marie Freudenburg, piano; and Rebecca Luppe, piano, who are college and performance friends from Kalamazoo, Mich.

Luppe, the niece of Anderson residents David and Karen Priest, will be accompanying the National Youth Orchestra on tour at Carnegie Hall, the Tanglewood Festival and Disney World later this year.

Nordmoe has performed with renowned violinist Midori Goto and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.

A reception will follow the concert.

Uncork your inner artist at Toscana

ANDERSON — Toscana Event Centre, 1314 Broadway, will host the following art classes this month.

Art of the Bottle: Friday, 8 p.m. Opportunity for a girls night out or bachelorette parties. The second Friday of each month. Cost of $25 per person includes easel, canvas, brushes, paint, instructor and wine.

Juice Box Heroes: Every second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class is for children 16 and under. Parents are free to participate or wait for their artists in the Bistro enjoying some coffee and snacks. $15 per person includes easel, canvas, brushes, paint, instructor, drinks and snacks.

Markleville breakfast served Saturday

MARKLEVILLE — The Christian Men’s Fellowship of East Christian Church will have its monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the downstairs fellowship hall.

The menu includes: sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, with a freewill offering accepted.

The church is at 124 E. Main St. (Indiana 38) and is handicap accessible.
